"It's not so much the meaning of life that we seek, but our aliveness. When we have that, the meaning of life is obvious."

Meet Kristin
Hi, my name is Kristin. I’ve spent the last 7 years working as a private counsellor in London, England after completing my M.S. in Mental Health Counselling in Atlanta, US.

My initial experience with counselling was working at The Hirsch Academy, supporting children with developmental and neurological differences, including those on the Autism spectrum. I felt a real gap in providing emotional support to the parents, who were working incredibly hard to best support their child’s needs, often feeling exhausted, uncertain, isolated, and searching for what other support or tools were out there. I have since found that providing parental support in therapy is an area I really love.

As a qualified Yoga instructor, I’ve worked with pre- and post-natal women and developed a particular interest in supporting women physically and psychologically through this massive life transition. From being “just you” to being “mum” is a lot to psychologically adjust to and having the right support is key. I have since found it incredibly rewarding to work with pre- and post-natal women in therapy, helping them to adjust to their new life, hormonal changes, and the emotional rollercoaster that often accompanies motherhood.

I’ve also worked at a Hospice on a Family and Friends support team for those with loved ones in need of Hospice care. Having experienced a big loss myself, I am drawn to supporting others through times of medical stress, loss, and grief.

And lastly, I tend to work with a lot of international expats. Having moved from America to the UK myself, I understand the emotional toll this change can take. Feeling like a “fish out of water” – like you don’t know where things are or how they work – can make this time feel extremely discombobulating, stressful, or isolating.
